Exhaling the Spirit


A quiet meadow. Old, uninhabited by animals. The only life on it was the weeds, which no one was able to trim. And in the middle of it, there lay the body.

I had long wondered whose body it was or how it had ended up here. I visited it every day, it was not far to the meadow. I watched it slowly rot.

One night, just as I was about to return, I dared to look through the thicket. But where my gaze was supposed to meet the cold, lifeless body, the gaze of a living corpse pierced me…
