WHAT ABOUT RIGHTS AND LICENSES?
With the purchase of an artwork you receive all rights and licenses for worldwide use, no matter for which purpose, for which medium or which channel. You can do whatever you want with the artwork. The only thing I ask for is the note “Artwork by Andy Reich (www.collapseofart.com)”. However, I might use the artwork in my portfolio or for promotional purposes.
CAN THE ARTWORK BE SPECIALLY ADAPTED TO PHYSICAL MEDIA (JEWELCASE CD, DIGIPAK, VINYL)?
Of course. Just send me the template from the printer or pressing plant and I will adjust it according to their technical requirements. Depending on the effort involved, the price must be clarified individually in advance (usually around 20% of the artwork price).
IN WHAT FORMAT WILL I RECEIVE THE FILES AND WITH WHAT RESOLUTION?
You will receive the final file(s) with your album cover in jpeg format with a high resolution of 300 dpi and (usually) 30×30 cm. If the artwork is to be printed, I can also send other formats such as PDF or TIFF.
IN WHAT COLOR MODE ARE THE FILES CREATED?
I will send you the file(s) in RGB format. This color mode is used by monitors, televisions or smartphones. If files are required for printing, I will send them in CMYK format with a maximum color application of 300%.
CMYK is a requirement for four-color printing, and limiting the total ink coverage prevents smearing of fine areas.
ARE THE ARTWORKS UNIQUE?
All artworks are unique pieces, and are only sold once. However, there may be similar artwork in a similar style.
HOW LONG IS THE DOWNLOAD LINK VALID?
You have 14 days to download the files after receiving the download link. The number of downloads is not limited, so you can download your files as often as you like. Just in case, I also save all files on my hard drive. If you need your files again after these 14 days, just contact me and I will send them to you again immediately. Free of charge of course…
CAN I CANCEL A PURCHASE AND GET REFUND?
If the products offered here are digital contents (data) or digital services, the right of withdrawal expires if the consumer agrees that the fulfilment of the contract is started before the end of the withdrawal period. If there is an unsolvable technical problem with the file or with the download, I will of course refund the purchase price.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO CREATE ARTWORK OR A COMPLETE LAYOUT, AND WHAT TECHNIQUES DO YOU USE?
I do all this in my spare time, which is unfortunately quite limited. So it can take a while until the work is finished. I use different techniques and software, mainly Photoshop and AI.
